Out of character.
First. Respect everyone, be they staff, another member, or a guest. There should be no reason for fighting in the C-Box or the boards. Name-calling especially, because really how much more childish can you get? Treat others as you wanted to be treated.
Second. Don't spam. Spamming is when you post pointless messages more than once; this includes in the same post. Posts should always be at least one full sentence, unless you're in the arcade area or in the C-Box and you should always type out your full words. No chat speak.
Third. Don't bother other members via PM, especially not if you're trying to get them to join your site. If they want you to PM them the link, they'll tell you. If they don't ask you to, just post in the advertising board. Maybe they'll be interested in it and join. If they're not, then that's too bad.
In character.
First. We do not have a word count here on IDWY, however we do not accept one or two liners. Please post at least three sentences per post, thank you.
Second. If you change the colour of your post, please make sure it's something legible and won't make everyone's eyes bleed. If it isn't legible, and does make eyes hurt, no one will respond. However, colouring your font at all is looked down upon, because if we change the skin and your font doesn't show up, it's a major inconvenience to the person who's trying to respond to you.
Third. There is a limit of one character to an account, so that people will have an idea of who they're RPing with, and also so that we admins can give you a pretty coloured name once your character has been accepted. :D There is also a limit of five characters per person. Maybe if you're extra good and super active we'll make an exception, but quality is more important than quantity.
Fourth. When you're creating your character, it's important to have some faults. Keep the personality somewhat realistic - nobody's perfect. And for appearances, even princes and princesses have imperfections. Not everyone's muscular, graceful, handsome, beautiful, et cetera. Don't be afraid to make a grotesque, deformed person. Those are the ones I like best.
Fifth. No powerplaying: Powerplaying is when your character does something to another character without their permission, for example, "Arden leapt at Clash and hit him in the shoulder, drawing blood." It should be "Arden leapt at Clash's shoulder, hoping that he would draw blood." Another form of Powerplay is when you dodge every hit. It's not possible. So be realistic.
Sixth. No godmoding: Godmoding is making your character have super powers, or be able to do things that no normal human would never be able to do. Oh, I have a secret for you: I'm off to Canada!. Just because they're super humans doesn't mean they can call lightning down from the sky and strike their enemies. Well, not everyone.
Seventh. I looked at a tree. It was pretty. All green and leafy... I think I stared at it for like five minutes before moving on.
Eight. You should only be in two or three places at a time, and if you're not active in all the threads you've decided to join in on, the privilege will be taken away. Remember, quality over quantity.
Ninth. All images must be appropriate. Avatars cannot exceed the size 150x200 pixels, and signatures must not exceed the size 500x350.
Tenth. A roleplaying game is a game. Don't take anything that happens in character personally. Just because no one likes your character doesn't mean people don't like you.
Eleven. Characters must be played by a celebrity. No unknown myspace faces or anything. Also make it so that your character looks about the same age as the actual celebrity. George Clooney cannot play a twenty year old.
Twelve. Your character should have a first middle and last name, and it all must be in lower case. No angel_devil_669. Your name should look more like this; angela lucy denver.
Thirteen. Have fun. That's the whole point of this right?
